It is a well-known fact by now that Empire was at the center of the Jussie Smollett drama but it turns out that despite the actor’s scandal, the positive atmosphere on the set of the show has not been disrupted! This is what Taraji P. Henson claims during a new interview for ET.
While promoting her upcoming project, The Best of Enemies earlier today in New York, the actress chatted with the news outlet, telling a reporter that ‘It’s a great atmosphere.’
Her response came to a question asking her how thing have been on the set of Empire ever since her co-star Jussie Smollett was accused of lying about being the victim of a hate crime.
In other words, she suggested that not much has changed despite the drama going on. She went on to state how excited she is for what is to come in the upcoming season 5 episodes and refrained from mentioning Smollett’s name. ‘Cookie’s on a really emotional roller coaster this year. She’s finding herself,’ Henson went on to say about the character she plays on Empire.
The star also admitted that she already knows which of the characters is going to be killed off at the end of the season since they are done shooting it. Of course, she refused to give anything away about that. Fans, however, are pretty convinced Smollett’s character is the one in the coffin since the chances he wasn’t fired are pretty small judging by the magnitude of his scandal. For now, he still appears in episodes since it looks like they were filmed before the whole supposedly fake attack.
