Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga have been making rounds in the press to promote their new movie “A Star is Born.” The film, that is already getting Oscar buzz, has Gaga and Cooper revealing some behind-the-scenes details. Lady Gaga recently admitted her insecurities and how they played out when she auditioned for the role. She showed up in a full face of makeup that Bradley Cooper wiped off.

“It put me right in the place I needed to be, because when my character talks about how ugly she feels—that was real. I’m so insecure. I like to preach, but I don’t always practice what I preach,” the performer admitted. She also opened up about how she and her character, Ally, differ in an interview with the LA Times: “When we meet Ally, she has given up on herself. And that is very different from me. I just was not overwhelmed by the odds. The truth is, if we were not sitting here today and I had not sold as many records as I have, I would still be in a bar somewhere playing the piano and singing. It’s just who I want to be. I was dragging my piano from dive bar to dive bar to play music. I was calling people, faking being my own manager to get gigs. I really believed in myself that I could do this and that I was not going to stop until I made it.”

Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut forced him to get up close and personal with the “Perfect Illusion” artist. He admits that he fell in love with her face and eyes on set. On August 31, the pair attended the Venice Film Festival where “ASIB” received an eight-minute standing ovation. Cooper didn’t realize that the pop star was Italian at first — it ended up bringing them together. “I remember when we first met, after 10 minutes we were eating homemade food that she cooked – I love to eat – and that was actually a huge bond that we both came from East Coast Italian-American families. So we had a real synchronicity on that level from our upbringing,” the actor revealed.
